Most of the time using an inspirational passage...helps to slow down the furious, fragmented activity of the mind so that we can gain control over it...Whatever we drive deep into consciousness, that we become...... I usually recommend the Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi:

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me show love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

To be consoled as to console,

To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.

Every time we experience a single day of inner stillness and joy, we are empowered to expand it into a second and a third day. A space opens in our hearts, and when two hearts recognize and acknowledge each other, a connection happens. It happens again and again as other hearts are joined in this stillness.

It is through solving problems correctly that we grow spiritually.
We are never given a burden unless we have the capacity to overcome it.
If a great problem is set before you, this merely indicates that you have the great inner strength to solve a great problem.
There is never really anything to be discouraged about, because difficulties are opportunities for inner growth, and the greater the difficulty the greater the opportunity for growth
.

God's love

God’s love is pure.

Tough our feelings come and go,

God's love for us does not.

What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God.

God makes three requests of his children: Do the best you can, where you are, with what you have, now

We turn to God for help when our foundations are shaking, only to learn that it is God who is shaking them.

God places the heaviest burden on those who can carry its weight.

Today will be a new day, In the name of God, that's what I say. I will not let people bring me down, I have to keep trying. Never give up, I will prevail, God will protect me from all my fears, all my problems, I decide what makes me happy. Joy is my key, Love is unleashed from within me, Tears of pain and hurt are no more, My life, my worries, I give to God, He is the only one, Who can give me absolute comfort and peace. I will find great friends at Andrews University, Yes I will. Positive, optimistic is my middle name, Taking risks is my game, Confusion and loss will be wiped away. It will be my first year in college, could be pretty hard right? but yet it will be the first year to rejuvenate myself, To form and mold myself into someone I thought I'd never be, to the person that God truly want me to be ...brave, loving , and helpful . People will like and accept me for the person that I am and that I'm truly meant to be. God will make a way for me, I will excel in all my classes, A's galore. I will learn to love more, laugh more, live more. I am telling you! ''God have great plans for my life...'' Well he have giving me a wonderful opportunity , and I will not waste it.

Our guides..... the angels

W
ho are they, what do they do?
Where do they come from, are they for me and you?
What do they look like, how do they sound?
Where do you keep them, where are they found?

Can you hear them, see them, touch them
How long do they stay?
Maybe a year, a week or just even a day

Questions you ask of them you see
They are here to help us you and me
To guide and love us through all our years
Keeping away darkness and negative fears

But to find one yourself there’s little to do
Just relax and listen to the true you
The little word or thought in your head
could be a guide or something you read

My guess is with little effort and care
Your going on a journey so be prepared.

Helping Others

http://www.chhny.org/wp-content/uploads/helping-hands.jpg

O
ne night, at 11:3 0 p.m., an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car had broken down and she desperately needed a ride. Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.

A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 60s.. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxicab.

She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A special note was attached..

It read: 'Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away.. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others.'

Sincerely, Mrs. Nat King Cole.

Lets continue to help others because Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself....., but what you do for others.

God is Love: How do we Define Love?

"God is Love", but how do we define it? The American Heritage Dictionary defines love as "an intense affection for another person based on familial or personal ties". Often this "intense affection" stems from a sexual attraction for that other person. We love other people, or we say we love other people, when we are attracted to them and when they make us feel good. Notice that a key phrase in the dictionary definition of love is the phrase "based on". This phrase implies that we love conditionally; in other words, we love someone because they fulfill a condition that we require before we can love them. How many times have you heard or said, "I love you because you are cute;" or "I love you because you take good care of me;" or "I love you because you are fun to be with"?

Our love is not only conditional, it is also mercurial. We love based on feelings and emotions that can change from one moment to the next. The divorce rate is extremely high in today's society because husbands and wives supposedly stop loving one another-or they "fall out of love". They may go through a rough patch in their marriage, and they no longer "feel" love for their spouse, so they call it quits. Evidently, their marriage vow of "till death do us part" means they can part at the death of their love for their spouse rather than at their physical death.

Can anyone really comprehend "unconditional" love? It seems the love that parents have for their children is as close to unconditional love as we can get without the help of God's love in our lives. We continue to love our children through good times and bad, and we don't stop loving them if they don't meet the expectations we may have for them. We make a choice to love our children even when we consider them unlovable; our love doesn't stop when we don't "feel" love for them. This is similar to God's love for us, but as we shall see, God's love transcends the human definition of love to a point that is hard for us to comprehend.

Forgiveness

If you try to reach inside of your heart

you can find forgiveness, or at least the start

And from that place where you can forgive is where Hope,

and Love, also thrive and live

And with each step that you try to take
and with that chance that your heart might break
Comes so much happiness, and so much strength
which Alone can carry you a fantastic length

For hate and anger will not get you there
and though you say that you just don't care
You can EASILY avoid the pain on which hate feeds
. . . the kind of hurt that No one needs

Just make the move, take that first stride
let go of the thing known as " Too much Pride"

Maybe then you can start to repair the past

into something strong, that will mend, and last!

For God Knows what 's inside your heart, so FORGIVENESS is the start !!!!

Compassion, Reverence, Courage

Once upon a time there was an old woman who used to meditate on the bank of the Ganges. One morning, finishing her meditation, she saw a scorpion floating helplessly in the strong current. As the scorpion was pulled closer, it got caught in the roots that branched out far into the river. The scorpion struggled frantically to free itself but got more and more entangled.

She immediately reached out to the drowning scorpion, which, as soon as she touched it, stung her. The old woman withdrew her hand but, having regained her balance, once again tried to save the creature. Every time she tried, however, the scorpion's tail stung her so badly that her hands were becoming bloody and her face distorted with pain.

A passerby who saw the old woman struggling with the scorpion shouted, "What's wrong with you, fool! Do you want to kill yourself to save that ugly thing?"

Looking into the stranger's eyes, she answered, "Because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting, why should I deny my own nature to save it?"

Thank you Lord

Thank you Lord

...for giving me life though at times it's been sad
I'm ever so grateful for the things that I've had
You gave me such courage and filled me with love
and compassion for others, You gave me YOUR love

For giving me comfort when my loved ones passed on
For giving me strength when I couldn't carry on
For teaching forgiveness for those who caused pain
For giving me sunshine in the middle of rain

For a heart to love deeply and a shoulder to cry on
And quiet spirit and a name to rely on
For turning my tears into joy for others
for always protecting my sisters and brothers

For all that I am and continue to be
May I always do what you expect of me
Thank you Lord for this chance to bless
and to share you with others...what happiness

I love you God

I love you, O God,
Not only for who you are,
But for who I am when I am with you.
I love you
For what you are making of me.
I love you, O God,
For the part of me that you bring out.
Continue to be with me as I get to the real me
For only you can help me be me.
