Make a Difference!!!!

Friends there are so many opportunities in everyday life to strengthen our communities, especially our campus if you are prepared to be brave enough to stand out from the crowd and make a difference.
It doesn't take much - a smile here, a compliment there, a little bit of chivalry . . . but these days its not the norm and for many people the sheer randomness of encountering a bit of 'nice' in their day puts them on guard. And for many of us, the possibility of sideways glances is enough to put us off even trying.

If we want to make our cities, towns and campus into really strong, socially cohesive communities, then we need to be prepared to personally make the difference. If other people look at us like we're out of our mind, so be it. There's no need to start with a dramatic gesture like a huge campaign about "Kindness to others" if that's not your style, there are lots of little things you can do as you go about your day that can be just as effective.
Here are some ideas to help get you started. Go on, be brave, be nice, have fun!! Pay someone a compliment. It’s amazing what a conversation starter a compliment can be. Compliment someone on their hair, their walk, their shoes, their clothes...lol
Open the door for someone, Even if is a class door, the Cafe door, or the gazebo door. You don't have to just help someone with their hands full; simply holding the door for the person coming up behind you is a gesture that doesn't go unnoticed.
Pick up rubbish. Nothing says 'campus pride' like tidy gym, classes and etc..! Say hello to your neighbors and Classmates. You can't have a strong campus if you don't know your peers. Start by saying hello next time you see them. Remember people's names - you know, the manager of the cafe, your professors, the deans, the postman . . . if you want to make people feel part of a strong community calling them by name is a great start!

That’s all for today, I have to go back to my studies, but be sure to make a difference starting today, and I’m going to do the same as well :)

May the Lord Keep Us and Help us to make a difference here, now and everywhere we may go!!!
